We were extremely fortunate to stay with Daniela and her very intelligent ten year old daughter, Maeva, during our stay in Isla de Ometepe. Daniela is the manager of Puesta del Sol, a community tourism effort run by women in Ometepe that houses students and travelers in community members homes. We learned so much of the Nicaraguan culture through her stories, the traditional meals, and touring her community and garden. Both Daniela and Maeva spoke very fluent French which made conversations around the dinner table informative and fun. They made us feel at home, which made it even more difficult to say goodbye.
